Have Confidence with the Otterbox Commuter Case

Let’s face it. You have a slight obsession with your phone. Ok, so maybe it’s more than slight. It’s your life! We get it. It’s ours, too. The best way to protect your phone is with an excellent insurance policy. Our Otterbox Commuter Review will help you find that extra protection.

Otterbox is confident this case will protect your phone through thick and thin, for better or worse, till death do you part. Well, maybe not that last one (we hope not). But seriously, this case might be even better than what’ s-his-name.

In our review of the Otterbox Commuter Case, we discovered that features of the case include: a sleek, slim profile, double layer protection against drops, port covers to keep inputs secure, and is overall dust-resistant.

This case has serious screen protection!

It’s budget-friendly, too. Otterbox has priced the Commuter case at a very competitive price.

Now I know you’re wondering, competitive. That means, cheap? Right? Not so in this case. Backing every claim is their stellar lifetime guarantee.

It ensures every phone against breaks, cracks, and drops for as long as you own your phone. Those cheap phone cases can’t compete with that. So yeah, that’s what we mean by ‘competitive.’

It’s the Little Black Dress for your phone

If you’re someone that needs a quality phone case but doesn’t want to have something bulky, then the Otterbox Commuter Case is for you. You know that feeling when you put on your favorite little black dress, look in the mirror, and admire that sexy vixen staring back at you?

The Otterbox Commuter Case Opens in a new tab.is like that little black dress–except it’s for your phone. Sleek and sophisticated, yet not overly flashy, this case has a slim profile that is easy to grip in your hands.

Its synthetic rubber cover over its polycarbonate base provides protection along with its simple yet elegant looks. Even with two layers, it’s not bulky like some of its other Otterbox counterparts.

The best part is that even though it’s easy to hold in your hands, with or without a pop-socket, it won’t get stuck in the pockets of your jeans.

Other not-so-sexy features include things like port covers. Those are like cozy pajamas covering the phone’s most cherished inputs, keeping them dust-free.

But perhaps you are more modern and high-tech. We’ve got great news! The Commuter Case even allows for wireless charging on any device. Techies rejoice!

iPhone or Android?

Ah, the ultimate question. All arguments over which brand is superior aside, it seems like when a case works for one brand, it never works for the other.

This is not so with the Commuter Case. This case fits all Apple iPhones from models five on up. Android models include Samsung Notes, Galaxies, and it will even fit lesser-known brands like the Moto G. That’s pretty sweet.

The Commuter Case Guarantee

We all know that when it comes to phone cases, looks are great, but in reality, it all breaks down to one thing. Will it protect my life? I mean, my phone?

Sure, you’ve got a cute case, but with one small 3-foot drop, it’s bye-bye screen. Or hello bulky, ugly case, but run a garbage truck over it, and somehow the thing is still kickin’.

The Otterbox Commuter Case mightOpens in a new tab. not be the belle of the phone case ball, but it does provide a security level you’ve come to expect from the Otterbox name.

Otterbox’s lifetime guarantee is legit. Users that did report damage (which were few and far between) stated that Otterbox held up its end of the bargain. That’s excellent security knowing your nearly $1,000 investment is covered, guaranteed.

Most users reported that no matter how they dropped their phone, cause let’s face it, we all drop it, the case held up every time. One user even dropped his phone from a whopping 60 feet!

Maybe you’re not climbing crazy heights, but even a mere 3 feet feels like Mt. Everest the second it drops (usually in slow motion, I might add). Superior protection from a brand notorious for its quality. A guarantee that’s money in the bank, or, in this case, your pocket.

Let’s Talk Dirt

Ok, ok. Take off your rose-colored glasses for a second. This case does have some downsides. While the case provides easy access to inputs (totally needed when you’re listening to the latest from Billie Eilish on repeat), some dust and debris are bound to get into its nooks and crannies.

The truth is, every case, no matter how durable or dust-proof they say it is, no case stands a chance in the pit of your bottomless purse. Or in the pocket of those brand new stone-wash skinny jeans that you look so hot in (P.S. – the ’80s called, those jeans are SO not a new fashion trend, Millenials).

There is also no screen protector included with the case. It must be purchased separately. Not the worst thing in the world, but alas, would’ve been a nice bonus feature.

Some users reported slight discoloration after only a few weeks of wear and tear on some of the lighter-colored models. Our advice? Go with black, honey. Always go with black. It’s slimming, remember? Plus, it goes with everything!

We know the Bohemian aquamarine might be the trend right now, but primary dark colors seemed to wear the best with this case. And might we add, that goes for pants, too.

The Verdict on our Otterbox Commuter Case Review

While the Otterbox Commuter Case has some minor downsides, most of the features and benefits far outweigh the few negatives. Average Amazon customer ratings across all phone brands were 4.6 out of 5 stars. Not bad, all things considered.

So if you’re looking for quality, durability, yet something eye-catching, the Otterbox Commuter Case is the case for you. If you want to check out our other reviews in the Otter Box series, check out this review! Opens in a new tab.
