Chi Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron Review
The Chi Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron
Hair straighteners have come an incredibly long way in the last decade. The words ‘hair straightener’ alone is enough to bring back flashbacks of fried and damaged hair from middle school. With today’s technology, hair straighteners, such as the Chi Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron, can get the job done with much less damage.
This hot tool can go above and beyond, with the ability to curl, smooth frizz, and even condition your hair.
I am a blonde, not naturally, so my hair is continuously damaged with everything that comes along with the upkeep of my golden locks.
Along with the bleaching, I heat-style my hair nearly every day, which I know can be damaging.
My search for the Perfect Flat Iron
In my search for the perfect heat styler that wouldn’t continuously damage my hair, I’ve tried everything. Yes, I literally mean EVERYTHING.
I’ve been fooled multiple times by clever marketing strategies claiming that the newest heat styling product will protect your hair rather than fry it.
And just when I’d given up all hope in saving my hair from more heat damage, I tried the CHI Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron. After using this hot tool, I can proudly say that my hair loves me again!
Volcanic Lava Ceramic Plates
The power of CHI Ceramic infused with volcanic lava from derived from lava rocks provides gentle, reliable heat during styling.
This beautiful combination of compounds allows styling at lower than average temperatures, which produces less damage to your hair while also offering smooth and shiny results.
The ceramic plates create a gentle consistent heat that is effective, but easy on your tresses.
With these incredible heat-conducting materials, volcanic lava combined with CHI ceramic power creates smooth, sleek results without high-heat styling damage.
Putting it to the Test
I’ll be honest, after learning about this so-called ‘amazing combination of elements,’ I turned my head the other way.
I don’t know much about science or the Earth’s elements, so I was not interested! I figured it was just a fancier way to scam me with marketing again.
But day after day, I kept seeing these ads for the Chi Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron. It was getting harder to ignore what I was hearing and seeing on my screen. I decided to do some research, no not about the elements, but about what others thought of the product.
After my tenth video review of the CHI Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron, I was convinced I needed to give it a try.
Finally, it came to my doorstep (I love online shopping). Opening up that package felt like Christmas day!
Before I even turned that baby on, I was completely mesmerized by how beautiful it was.
It felt so durable, and the length of the heating plate was much longer than what I’ve been using.
I plugged in my new flat iron and gently brushed out my very tangled locks. It barely took thirty seconds to heat up; I already loved it.
I’ve experienced lots of hair breakage with the other flat irons I’ve used, so I was excited to see that this straightener has lower heat options.
I started with the default setting of 370 degrees.
The temperature display is another feature I love. This feature makes it easy to tell when the flat iron is ready to use, and it’s a helpful reminder that it’s on — and hot!
I couldn’t believe how amazing my hair felt and looked after using the Chi Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron. It felt so smooth going across my dry hair.
It was obvious that the consistent heat during styling really helped with smoothing and straightening. My hair wasn’t so hot that it didn’t burn my ear after leaving the flat iron. I couldn’t believe it.
I have naturally straight hair but always wake up with a few unwanted waves, so just a bit of straightening and taming is all I need. I was not disappointed! The CHI Lava Ceramic Flat Iron produced the smooth, sleek look I desire.
After using the CHI Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron, my hair seems smoother and shinier than before.
Now it’s the only tool I trust to use on my hair, not just for straightening but also for curling!
Flat Iron Beachy Waves
Doing beachy waves with a flat iron isn’t a new style, but here is the easiest way I’ve learned to do it. Start with clean, dry hair. Apply a heat protector as you go to keep hair protected and healthy!
- Section out your hair. To start, I typically clip up the top. But if you have longer or thicker hair, you may need to do up to three sections. I prefer to work my way up from the bottom, but you can section however you feel comfortable.
- Take a 1-inch section of hair and turn it away from your face with the straightener.
- The next section of hair you take needs to be the same size, but curl it in the OPPOSITE direction. Doing this gives your hair lots of movement and body and keeps your waves from sticking together!
- Repeat these steps until all of your hair is curled.
- Stick your fingers in your hair and shake it up! Don’t be scared! If you wait until your hair is completely cooled, you’re not going to destroy your curls. With beachy waves, they shouldn’t appear perfect anyways! Separate the curls and use your fingers to create a shape you love.
- Finally, lock it in with some hairspray, finishing spray, or shine spray!
I love this look because it looks so effortless and laid back. It’s quick, easy, and looks great! The CHI Lava Volcanic Ceramic Flat Iron does wonders to create those beachy waves.
